How did we get our idea?

Our film idea was actually thought up from a episode of Family Guy that Luke had watched quite recently (the link is down below). It starts with the character Peter Griffin talking about Valentines Day in a funny way, then cutting to split screens introducing all the characters in the show, with a few funny cut scenes throw in there too. he saw this episode and thought it would be good to base our idea on that. We then thought up the script for it, and I drew the storyboard and it all went from there

We didn't completely copy the idea from the Family Guy version, as we did not want to do this. We wanted our own funny twist on the micky takes of rom com's with our own script and ideas of what to do. The only thing that is similar between the two is the line "anyway, here's a song that your girlfriend might like", which leads onto the cut scenes for both. This line we wanted to keep because we think its really funny to lead into a cheesy pop song. The one that Family Guy used was 'I Gotta Feeling' by Black Eyed Peas, which is indeed a pop like song that many girls would like. But because we cannot use these real songs for copyright reasons, I was going to come up with a song similar to I Gotta Feeling that will be equally as pop centred.
