A walk among the Tombstones - 2014

First, lets talk about the criminals. As you watch the film, you will happily grow to hate these two and the more the watch, the more you want to get rid of them yourself. They rape, torture and murder anyone that gets in their way, but will Liam Neeson be the exception (No Spoilers!).

He's back, Liam Neeson returns in another thrilling movie (written by Scott Frank and Lawrence Block) in which the retired NYPD cop Matt Scudder is given the task of finding and arresting two psychopathic criminals guilty of murder and sexual violation. These dangerous men (played by David Harbour and Adam David Thompson) have been capturing and threatening drug dealers' wives and threatening people for their money in return for their loved ones.

Liam Neeson himself plays an aging retired cop from the New York Police Department called Matt Scudder. His character, much like his other film roles, is an energy filled, deep voiced man with a feel for action. In the beginning of the film, we see him walking into a bar and sitting down with two shots of whisky and a cup of coffee. Suddenly, the doors slam open and shots are being fired from the door. Matt leaves the bar in pursuit of these mad gun men and in turn, his life is changed. For better or worse? I'll let you decide.

I really enjoyed the fast pace of this film as it allowed the audience to learn so much about the characters and the plot, and for a 114 minute film, I'm surprised I didn't get bored of it. It may not have been as good as some of his other films such as 'Taken' but it sure was enjoyable.
As the film progresses, new characters (such as 'TJ') and new situations are introduced that keep the audience hooked and the film living on. So if you are a fan of action, crime and Liam Neeson at his best, then go and watch 'A walk among the Tombstones' today!
